Valentine's Day Entree

Creamy Garlic Mushrooms

This mushroom recipe will only take you 10 minutes and will impress your partner on Valentine's Day!

Rich Creamy Garlic Mushrooms

  • Gluten-Free: Yes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Feeds: 2


  • Knob of butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 250g cup mushrooms (cut into quarters)
  • 1 cup of thick cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 4 garlic clove’s
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 shallot or 1 small brown onion (diced finely)
  • Parmesan (grated)
  • A drop of lemon juice (optional)
  • Season salt & pepper


  • 1 Tbsp Parmesan (shared)
  • Handful fresh parsley (chopped)


Put a pan on medium heat and add the knob of butter with 1 tbsp olive oil. Once the butter is melted add in the onions and cook until soft.

Next, add in the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes. Now add in the mushrooms and cook until lightly brown and season with a pinch of sea salt & pepper.

Once the mushrooms are looking good! Add in the mustard and now add in the white wine and cook until half the amount of wine is left in the pan.

Now add in the parmesan and cook for another 1 minute. Next, add in the cream and make sure to stir in well.

Season with sea salt & pepper and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium heat.

Once done add fresh parsley and season more with seas salt & pepper if required, now add the lemon juice (optional).

Serve and garnish with fresh parsley and parmesan.

If not gluten-free a slice of crusty bread goes well with it!

Little God Rye's Spicy Sweet & Sour Chicken

If you love a good chicken sweet & sour, then you are going to love this version with our Little God Rye Spicy Sweet & Sour Ketchup Sauce! Valentine's Day just got a little spicy!

Ryes Chicken Sweet and Sour Recipe



  • 4 chicken thigh (cut into 1-inch chunks)
  • Pinch of salt & pepper for seasoning

Sweet & Sour Sauce:

  • 2-3 Tbsp Little God Rye Sauce – Spicy Sweet & Sour Ketchup
  • 1 Cup pineapple juice
  • ½ Cup rice vinegar
  • 1 Cup light brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp ketchup
  • 4 Tbsp soy sauce (GF)
  • ½ Tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tsp sesame oil
  • Adjust all ingredients to taste
  • 1 Spring onion (sliced thinly)
  • ½ Red capsicum (diced)
  • Pinch of salt & pepper

To Serve:

  • Spring onion (sliced thinly)
  • Sesame seeds
  • Rice


Cut chicken into 1-inch chunks and then season with salt & pepper and leave to one side.

Put a wok on a high heat and add your chicken cook until lightly browned. Next, add the red capsicum, spring onion and cook for another 1 minute, now combine brown sugar, garlic powder, soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, ketchup (you can instead forget the normal ketchup and add more of Little God Rye instead for a spicier version), Little God Rye, pineapple juice, bring to a boil over medium heat cook until thickened and chicken is cooked through.

Serve with rice and garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion.

Valentine's Day Dessert

Mixed Berry Cheesecake Pots with Rhubarb & strawberry Hot Sauce

Finish off Valentine's Day with this slightly spicy number!

Mixed Berry Cheesecake Pots

  • Gluten-Free: Yes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Feeds: 4


  • 200g mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 Tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 200g Gluten-Free biscuits (blended)

Cheesecake mixture

  • 250ml thick cream
  • 250g Cream cheese
  • 150g Greek natural yoghurt
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla extract
  • ½ Zest of a lemon
  • 4 Tbsp Caster sugar



Pop biscuits into a blender and blend until like breadcrumbs.

Get a small pan and add the berries, Rhubarb & Strawberry Hot Sauce, water and 2 Tbsp sugar and pop on medium heat, cook for 5-7 minutes and then leave to cool.

Next, get a bowl and whisk the cream until soft peaks form.

Get another bowl and add all other cheesecake mixture ingredients and whisk until mix together, next, fold in the cream.

Get 4 glasses and spoon the biscuits into each glass, now add a few berries on top of the biscuits.

Next, spoon in the cheesecake mixture and now add a few berries on top with some of the sauce from the berries. Finish off with lemon zest and pop into the fridge for a few hours.
